Bringing Laser Cleaning to the Rental Industry: ALR's Journey from Research to Rollout

Laser Cleaning Equipment Rental 2026 Completed by Advanced Laser Restoration (Corporate)

After a year researching the rental market as an American Rental Association member, Advanced Laser Restoration launched a laser cleaning rental program — with Pennsylvania's Gap Power renting its first 500-watt machine daily.

A year of industry research, equipment development, and training platform design helped Advanced Laser Restoration bring laser cleaning to rental customers—with Pennsylvania's Gap Power among its early adopters. Putting laser cleaning equipment into the rental industry required more than making a machine available. It meant developing a way to support customers who might be using the technology for the first time. For Advanced Laser Restoration CEO Greg Price, that challenge became a year-long effort to connect equipment, education, and ongoing guidance into a practical rental offering. After launching ALR as a franchise brand in 2022, Greg expanded that work into the rental market in 2026, building on the training and operational support developed for ALR's franchise network. LEARNING THE INDUSTRY BEFORE LAUNCHING The process began with listening. Over the first year, Greg traveled to American Rental Association meetings to understand rental operators' needs, customer expectations, and the realities of introducing unfamiliar equipment into an established rental business. Those conversations helped shape both the machines and the software supporting them. The goal was to give rental facilities a workable way to introduce laser cleaning while providing customers with education and guidance beyond the equipment handoff. ALR became an American Rental Association member and attended the ARA Show to learn more about the market. A year later, the company returned as an exhibitor, proudly introducing its laser cleaning rental offering to the industry. BUILDING SUPPORT AROUND THE EQUIPMENT Class IV laser equipment brings significant safety considerations. First-time renters need to understand the equipment, the operating environment, and the precautions involved before beginning work. Greg had already created the ALR Ops portal to support franchisees. He adapted that foundation into a rental-focused platform where customers could access LSO training and an AI concierge cleaning agent. The platform brings training and guidance together, helping renters navigate safety setup, equipment settings, and application questions. Its purpose is to support the customer throughout the rental experience, alongside the instruction provided by the rental facility. This combination of equipment and education was central to ALR's approach: making laser cleaning more accessible while giving new users a structured introduction to the technology. CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT: GAP POWER IN PENNSYLVANIA One of the early rollout customers was Gap Power, an established Pennsylvania rental facility with a broad lineup of recognized equipment brands. Advanced Laser Restoration worked with Gap Power to introduce its first 500-watt, 120-volt laser cleaning machine, supported by an in-store kiosk and on-site training. The rollout brought the pieces together in a working rental environment: equipment customers could rent, a kiosk connecting them with ALR's support platform, and training to help the facility introduce the offering. For ALR, working with a professionally run rental business like Gap Power was an opportunity to put the program into practice with an experienced operator. ENCOURAGING EARLY RENTAL ACTIVITY According to ALR, Gap Power's machine has been renting daily—an encouraging sign of customer interest in accessing laser cleaning through a rental facility. That activity provides useful early feedback on the offering. Customers can access the technology for individual projects, while the rental operator can evaluate demand through actual bookings and customer experience. For Greg and the ALR team, seeing the equipment put to work is a meaningful milestone after a year spent researching, developing, and preparing for the launch. FROM FRANCHISE SUPPORT TO RENTAL ACCESS ALR's entry into rentals reflects an evolution of the system built around its franchise brand. Equipment remains one part of the offering; training, software, and customer support help make it usable in a new setting. The Gap Power rollout shows that approach in action, bringing a 500-watt machine, an in-store kiosk, and on-site training together to introduce laser cleaning to rental customers.
